Mentoring Men and Women

In searching for an image to illustrate what mentoring looks like I happened on this one. Alberta and I have been asked by a number of cross cultural workers to walk along side them as they serve the Lord. Some depictions have the mentor above the mentee, offering a hand up. This side by side image suggests a friendlier approach to the process. One guy I am walking alongside is a Singaporean believer who was deep into the marketing world in Asia and found himself drifting from his faith. As he came back to Jesus he felt he needed someone to connect with who could help keep him on track with the Lord. Alberta also mentors younger women who want to profit from her wisdom and maturity. Pray for us that we can "stay alongside" these folks, reflecting  their inner strength and giftings back to them and helping them discover "Christ in you, the hope of Glory" (Colossians 1:27).

 

Prayer Requests:  

1. Continue to pray for healing for Alberta's knee. Its coming along well. She has another 3 or 4 physiotherapy appointments this month. 

2. Pray for me and Alberta as our involvement with Bethany's member care program continues to develop. Both of us are preparing messages on behalf of the member care department.  

3. Pray for Heather as she and her theatre group prepare a short online play based on the book "Endurance".  Theatre troupes are having to become more and more creative in this Covid season of life.
