Growing Up on the Mission Field

As we continue participating in Bethany Global University's (BGU) member care class virtually, it was a treat to be a part of a forum on parenting on the mission field.

No panel on this topic would be complete without hearing from some young people who grew up as Mks (missionary kids). Because of the time difference, Heather was able to virtually join in alongside mom and dad on screen with the panel of four other MKs on stage.   (Click on the picture to zoom in a bit).

We are so proud of these young people for the maturity they demonstrated as they tackled tough questions. Heather summed it up as we closed the discussion by saying "we've talked a lot about the challenges and hardships we (Mks) faced in life overseas but overall, it was a great experience growing up in another culture."

Pray for BGU seniors as they process what they have learned from these classes and look to God for their next steps in pursuing missions.

Prayer Requests

1. In the above picture at the right you see a man at the podium, the onsite moderator of our panel, Jim Levin. Jim and his wife Cherie contracted Covid not long after this class and Jim has been hospitalized as a result. Jim was put on a ventilator and has been taken off but is still in the ICU. Pray for a quick recovery for both Jim and Cherie.
2. As many of you know Alberta has wanted to help medically during the pandemic. She is now in an orientation process for an 'as needed' job at a walk in clinic. More about this in another update. Pray for her as she comes up to speed on all the current procedures.
