Update on Nurse Alberta
Alberta has landed a job as a part-time nurse during the Covid crunch for medical workers. After finally getting her license transferred from Florida and working through the red tape in the online application process, she hit the send button on her application and twenty minutes later had a job offer! She loves the team she works with and is glad she can fill in where needed.
She recently had an opportunity to minister to a sick woman whose husband passed away from Covid last January. The lady was being encouraged by 'friends' to put grieving behind her and just move on.
It was a wonderful opportunity for Alberta to share from her training in grief and loss (and personal experience) that grief can't be regulated so neat and cleanly. Pray for Alberta now that orientation has finished and she fills in where needed in the busy walk in clinic she works for.
Prayer Requests:
1. Annie ( the Indian grad student that stayed with us back in August) is staying with us again as she finishes up her first year of her masters program in social work. Her summer plans to go home to India have fallen through due to non-American's not being allowed to fly into the US (jeopardizing her return flight). Pray for God to comfort her in this time of loneliness for her family - and for His provision for a new roommate in the fall.
2. Heather's roommate leaves in August so she is on the hunt for a new one as well! There is a Singaporean girl (Sarah) at her church that is contemplating possibly staying in Scotland to work instead of returning to Singapore after school. Pray for God's provision for a new roommate for Heather.
3. As long as we're on a roll praying for these single gals and their needs, pray for Blessing, the daughter of one of the couples we used to visit in Vietnam for Bethany. Blessing is going to school in Ohio and her plans to spend time with friends and travel during her summer break have not worked out. Pray that she can find an opportunity for a purposeful use of her time this summer.
Serving Christ with You,
Steve and Alberta
