Ladderized Training in the Philippines
If you are scratching your head, trying to figure out what 'ladderized' means, join the club. When I (Steve) was asked to bring a word of encouragement and challenge to the 18 graduates of this program, I asked myself - what is ladderized? Apparently, it is being used in corporate leadership circles to communicate a blended approach of vocational mentoring and academic instruction. The Bethany churches of Mindoro are adapting this concept to train students, entrepreneurs and young professionals who are unable to study full time. They do this by blending the teaching of academic modules with the mentoring of trainees by church pastors. On Feb. 3rd these 18 students will graduate their first rung on the ladder, the church planting module. It was a privilege to prepare a short video, encouraging and challenging them to continue. Pray for these trainees as they move on to level two of their studies.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for me and Alberta as we continue teaching in Bethany Global University's member care class. Pray for good interaction with the students and cooperative technology as we teach virtually.
2. One of our neighbors died of Covid recently and we have gotten to know her son, Chuck. Pray for us as we make ourselves available to and provide comfort and hope to him and his family in this difficult time.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
