His Uplifting Power
Greetings from West Monroe, Louisiana! At first we didn't think we were going to be able to see our good friend and co-worker in Bethany, Lowell Glick on our visit to Texas. He told his wife, Sheri, he wanted people to remember him as he was. Prior to our visit to Houston, a friend prayed for him and his spirit was buoyed. Sheri told us to stop in last Saturday morning. Lowell was weak from his battle with cancer but his countenance changed as we talked about their ministry among the poor who work on ranches in central Mexico. Lowell's face brightened as he shared about the miraculous growth of the work they started among the indigenous Huichol tribe. The Huichol people number about 8000 and are scattered through the western Sierra Madres mountains. Lowell and Sheri's outreach has grown from 2 to 20. A young Huichol couple now pastor the work in the village. They conduct regular meetings even when Lowell and Sheri's outreach team is not able to visit them. As we talked of this growing ministry outreach, Lowell raised his arms, praising God, his face shining with joy. Pray with us for Lowell and Sheri as they face hardship and an uncertain future. They both have a peace which truly surpasses understanding.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for us as we make our way back to Tennessee through Alabama. We will be visiting supporters and and former co-workers with TEAM. We arrive back in Johnson City on May 15.
2. Pray for me (Steve) as I serve on our church's mission committee. We have some important decisions about the direction of missionary support for the coming year.
3. Continue to pray for Heather and Krista as they are both looking for new 'accommodations'.
Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
