Dreaming Big

The year was 2008 and the leaders of Bethany Mindoro shared their vision for a new building for their small, but growing Christian

school. Instead of co-opting various rooms around the former missionary compound, they wanted to build a three story building that could house all the grades of their school. Their vision took our breath away! The leaders told us they tacked the architectural drawing of the new school to the wall in the administration building of the school and it waited patiently for 10 years for God to move.

Then, in 2018 some significant gifts came in to make it possible for them to break ground on the school. When we visited last month, a Korean denomination was holding a seminar and the campus was packed. They didn't have enough housing so the Korean leader asked about the top floor of the new school building. Could they use that room? The Bethany leaders told him there are no doors or windows on the room. "How much would it cost", the Korean leader asked. "About $1500" was Bethany's response. "Go ahead and install your windows and doors" the Korean leader said.

And so it has gone as God has blessed our brothers and sisters in Bethany Mindoro. Lets pray that funds will come in for the last 20% of the building to be finished. The school now has 350 students and they need every classroom they can get!

Prayer Requests

1. Pray for Alberta as she processes the opportunities to expand an "Equipping Women Int." hub in the Philippines. She has a lot of follow-up to do after her introductory seminars.

2. Pray for the preparations of our upcoming road trip out west. We will be leaving late April and ending up in Minnesota to participate in Bethany's annual missionary retreat mid June. We hope to get back to Tennessee by the first of July. There are lots of appointments to arrange and reservations to confirm.

3. Pray for one of our regular contacts in India, Shimray and his fiancé, Sweetie. They will marry April 12. They have encountered a lot of stress regarding their families' desire to follow cultural protocol. They want to be a good example to Christian couples of their generation going forward but it has been difficult.

Serving Christ with You, Steve and Alberta
